Matthew 24: 21 describes the period of the Tribulation in saying
that "For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be."
During the Tribulation God's judgment and anger will fall upon
those within the so called "Church" who follow false theologies
of which there are many varieties. "For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God (I Peter 4: 17)."
Paul in II Thessalonians 2: 10-12 explains the importance of
having a love for the truth and being in truth. "And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness."
The Old Testament also contains prophecy for the Tribulation.
Ezekiel 7 is a prophecy for the Tribulation period. There
God's wrath is upon Israel for departing from his truth into false
teachings and false practices. Much of what is said there points to
the Tribulation,
though the chapter can be seen to deal with the apostasy of Israel in
the period of Ezekiel's life, and later.
Ezekiel 7: 6-8 tells us: "An end is come, the end is come: it watcheth for thee; behold, it is come.
The morning is come unto thee, O thou that dwellest in the land:
the time is come, the day of trouble is near, and not the sounding
again of the mountains.
Now will I shortly pour out my fury upon thee, and accomplish
mine anger upon thee: and I will judge thee according to thy ways, and will recompense thee for all thine abominations."
Who is "thee?" Its Apostate Israel, and now those who are in false theologies.
Ezekiel 7: 15-17 says: "The sword is without, and the pestilence and the famine
within: he that is in the field shall die with the sword; and he that
is in the city, famine and pestilence shall devour him.
But they that escape of them shall escape, and shall be on
the mountains like doves of the valleys, all of them mourning, every
one for his iniquity.
All hands shall be feeble, and all knees shall be weak as water. "
Sword, famine and pestilence will bring death to the apostate. Verse 16 which is about
them being on the mountains like doves of the valley sounds like the remnant, the 144,000,
but "all of them mourning, every one for his iniquity" sounds more like the
Multitude after they have come to the truth and came out of Babylon, out of
false doctrines. The Multitude is mourning for their sins and are in anxitety
over what is ahead for them.
It doesn't matter where the members of the Multitude are on earth. The church
members who go bad will go after them and turn them in to some government
who will put them in prison and execute them.
Ezekiel 7: 24: "Wherefore I will bring the worst of the heathen, and they shall
possess their houses: I will also make the pomp of the strong to
cease; and their holy places shall be defiled.
Destruction cometh; and they shall seek peace, and there shall be none."
The "worst of the heathen" could be groups like illegal Mexican immigrants or
some far away third world heathen groups the feds have brought in this
country to live. But
its also the locust-scorpions and serpents of Revelation 9 who are called
the worst of the heathen, especially the scorpions who are possessions
and money-
mad. This may suggest that there will be rewards given to the scorpions for
locating members of the Multitude who are scattered and are in hiding.
Ezekiel 5: 2 says "...and a third part thou shalt scatter in the wind;
and I will
draw out a sword out after them."
The Multitude apparently will know that they are in trouble and subject to being
put in prison and executed for having come to the truth, and they will
try to hide.
It may take longer for the apostate church members who do not come out of
apostasy to find them, but eventually they will be found even if they are in
far away islands.
I don't know God's exact timetable for the Tribulation. It may still
be possible
for God to call some into the Remnant, the 144,000, who are not now expecting
to be in that group, or praying that they could be perfected in the truth and
be selected for it.
Matthew 24: 9 says "Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted,
and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's
sake."
Christ in John 16: 2 tells us that ""They shall put you out of the
synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will
think that he doeth God service."
There is no "church" in the Bible. Congregation is used several time in the Old
Testament. Synagogues here must refer to some kind of organized Christian group. Bernard
